Your First Visit

First Visit
Your first visit to a new dentist can be a little bit overwhelming. Let us put your concerns to rest. Our goal is to make your first visit — and every visit after that — pleasant, positive, and comfortable.
What To Expect
Our doctors will perform a thorough oral examination to identify any conditions that may be present including tooth decay and periodontal disease. At Agave Dental, we also take the time to perform an oral cancer screening at every visit. This exam will be followed by a consultation about the findings and any treatment recommendations.
We may also clean your teeth during your first visit, or you might be scheduled for a follow-up appointment depending on the condition of your teeth and gums.
Your first appointment will take between an hour and an hour-and-a-half. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
What to Bring
To make your visit as pleasant and brief as possible, there are a few things you should bring with you.
If your previous dentist performed dental x-rays during the last six months, bring these to your first appointment. Don’t worry if you don’t have them. We’ll simply take a new set.
Please fill out the few simple forms at the patient forms page. They are important since they provide us with your relevant medical history, a list of your current medications, your dental history, and information about your insurance coverage. You can fill out these forms digitally and submit them or you can download, print, and fill them out to bring to the office for your visit.
